Seriousness Praying Mantis' hatching from my Christmas Tree??!!

Has anyone ever had praying mantis' hatch from their Christmas tree?

Considering I haven't seen one for a few years now, I am now getting my fill. I've caught over a dozen and I'm afraid how many are really hatched once I start to move the tree outside. After looking it up on the web, it doesn't seem to be uncommon.

So, at 2:13 am, I'm taking my tree down. Ugh!

haha! the first time I was stationed in Germany my first husband I were kind of tight on funds so snuck off into the forest and stole a tree (which is a HUGE no-no there!). we got our karmic backlash a few days after christmas when all of the sleeping creepy crawlies woke up and infested our apartment!

Hmmmm.... well, I have heard that praying mantis' are supposed to be good luck, so perhaps this is good karma?

And gave the guys that helped tie it to my car a Christmas worthy tip. I bought it at a church. I can't rcall now, but they told me where the money from the tree sales was going. I remembered feeling really good about buying a tree from them because of that.

... which is probably why you have Praying Mantis instead of Devil Bugs.

LOL... I think you might be right! After all, these are the ONLY bugs that I won't kill... well, these and ladybugs.

Well, another reason to never buy a real tree

(beside the fact that I can't decorate a real tree without thick gloves on...)

Christmas trees here tend to be made of plastic - mine was!
So no, nothing hatching from my tree.

Well, I'm having a friend of a friend stop by tomorrow to collect what's left of them. I'm guessing there are about 20 still roaming around my living room ceiling and walls. What are the odds that I'd know someone who knows someone with a praying mantis tattooed on his neck and is an acupuncturist who named his practice Grand Mantis?
