djv = djvu problem

When trying to send a .djv file to my device, calibre says that there are no suitable formats and suggests to convert.

Exporting.djvu files is perfect ever since the feature has been implemented in a modified plugin for the device. How can one "tell" calibre that there really is no difference between these two ?

Thanks for your help !

It is probable that djvu is not one of the formats configured as being available for your device. You could use the "Connect to Folder" option instead to transfer the file which will allow this format.

In fact djvu is but djv isn't. The save to disk does work, but the organisation is not as nice as calibre then does not know that the book is on the device. It is somewhat cumbersome to extract all the books in djv format, change the extension to djvu and re-add them to calibre ... well maybe not, if there are no useful tips, I might try to do just that

You seem to already have modified the device interface plugin for your device. What prevents you from doing the same again and adding djv to it?

I did not, Kovid did, very quickly after I opened a ticket some releases ago. So djvu now works perfectly. I had a look at the new plugin script and tried to do the same for djv and all other formats supported by FBreader or .cbz since the latter can now be read on the device,
https://wiki.mobileread.com/wiki/Digi...e_applications
but I was unable to make it work. For instance it is not clear to me whether djv has an entry in calibre.devices.mime or how to check that ....

If you use the Connect to folder feature as itimpi suggested then calibre will know the books are on the device.
