charging question prs 300

I just downloaded a book to my computer and want to transfer it to my Pocket Reader. I haven't used it in a month or so. It is plugged in to my PC via the USB cable. The red light is on. The screen is blank. The computer is not reading that a device is attached. Do I need to do something or just let it charge?

Probably. I've had issues with this. Let it charge for 20 minutes or so and try again.

I also have a slightly older desktop computer, and I have to plug the PRS300 into the usb ports in the back of my computer rather than the ones on the front of my case. My front ports don't read newer devices, but the back ports do.

Hope you're using a mains charger, TerribleBlue. Charging via USB to your computer ain't too effective with a Sony, and you can't rely on the over-optimistic battery level meter. All my Sony problems were solved when I got a mains charger a couple of years ago. It's worked like a dream ever since. Best wishes. Neil
