Very interesting. Thanks for the link.
Amazon's tracking of everything done on their site was one strong reason I avoided the Kindle. I would like to see Sony be more like the FBReader in terms of privacy, but as I buy very little through the Sony Reader Store, they don't have all that much on me. Not that there aren't data aggregators selling online IP tracking data to all interested parties. |

I actually like that they are suggesting books to me I might be interested in... They couldn't do that, if they didn't collect data... The books they advertise to me are the genres I'm interested in, and only that... The fact that I only buy e-books as well as the fact that I live in Australia (and some books are not available), doesn't figure in the data they collect...
A good service as far as I'm concerned. |

Looks like a conspiracy theorist that is trying to make Amazon look like big brother... half the stuff they say no or N/A for the nook, yet they have almost the same answer for several reader, but only answer "Yes" for the Kindle....
Keep the tin foil hat on! You may need it! |

They've come a long way from the original report. I think they should remove the category "Does the device have limited compatibility with books not purchased from an associated eBook store?" because this has little to do with privacy.
