Using nook without WiFi?
Hi
I'm thinking about buying a nook. Right now I don't have WiFi, so before I buy it I would really like to know: is it possible to load a pdf/epub (for starters Sherlock Holmes!) directly onto the nook from my linux PC and read it on the nook without ever going online with the nook? Thanks for any answers, Ben |

Yes. The Nook will act like a USB drive (two drives if you have a microSD card installed) if you connect it. Any epubs or pdf's you put on there will be available - it's called 'sideloading'.
There's one caveat: If you want to use the B&N store, you need to register the nook. You'll need to have wifi access for this, but it should be a one-time thing, so any public access point (or the access point of a friend) will do fine. |
