How do you store a JBL?

I'm thinking of getting a JBL (if price is right) to use as a "guest" reader and as a backup for my JB.

Generally, I store an electronic device with the batteries removed. What happens to a JBL if the batteries are removed indefinitely? When you put the batteries back it, will it just be like a reset?

Right, like after a reset. I guess if your "indefinitely" were too many years/decades,
there might be an issue. Most manufactures talk about ten years for flash memory,
so if you powered up your spare every five years or so any stored data would remain
usable.

Luck;
