75$ trade in credit for old reader vaild in stores?

Does it work in the stores too? I'm wondering if they'd take my 505 in, it does turn on still, even if it's probably had the hardest life of an e-reader out there.
That would tip me over back to buying a sony despite the screen cracking, their price is close the pocketbook and others I liked, and that would make it quite reasonable for the value I got from the last one.

Yes, and it is probably easier to do in-store than manage via mail. My local store told me no cracked screens, but there is another report in the Deals forum of one that did take a cracked Sony. YMMV.

I brought mine to the Sony Style Store in Las Vegas. No problem at all with the trade in. You might be able to get a little more on Ebay, but the instant satisfaction on the trade in rather than having to wait was worth it for me.

I have no idea it worked in stores. I wonder will it work on accessories? Since I bought my PRS-950 from B&H and did not bother with a cover.

Hey, since this is good in stores, I think I'll trade in my 505 for a 650.

Thats what I'm thinking, that deal is the deciding factor though, if they won't give anything with a damaged screen I won't buy sony. It's the deal that makes it worth my money to try them again.

Non Sony is fine. I traded in an old EB-1150 which was worth maybe $30 on eBay.

I was going to trade my perfect 600 but noticed that the unit didn't have to be functioning, so I traded in my broke screened 505 instead at my local SonyStyle 2 days ago.

The only thing you can't do is do the mail-in trade-in and then use the ecoupon code you get to buy in a Sony store. I tried that, and they said they could only place an order for me.

I did it. I traded in my 505 and got the 650. With tax and the purchase of the lighted cover the price ended up being $229 (same price of the reader alone without the trade-in), so it's basically like I got the lighted cover for free. They only had red and black readers and I bought the black one (they had a silver demo but no silver readers).

I asked what would happen to the 505 and was told that it would be used for parts and anything not usable would be recycled. That made me a little sad because it was fully functioning with no problems.

BTW, if anyone lives near the SonyStyle store in Costa Mesa, CA, they were selling the 650 demos for $137 but the trade-in did not apply.
