HELP!! :(
So I got my nook 3.5 hours ago, and have already made it mad. That didn't take long. I plugged it in to start charging it and it turned on, so I started playing with it (noticing later that I'm not supposed to touch it until the battery completely charges). It said that there was an update available (1.5) so I started updating it. It seemed to get most of the way through the update, but then it froze. Its been on the same screen for over an hour now and I cannot seem to turn it off. I unplugged it for a moment (have you crashed your head against a wall to celebrate my stupidity yet? you should.) to see if I could fix it by connecting it to my computer. All I succeeded in doing was getting the orange light to turn off. And now its plugged into the wall and still unresponsive.
help?? please? |

I found this in a B&N forum:
http://bookclubs.barnesandnoble.com/.../426179/page/2 The problem was resolved in different ways. I don't have experience with a NOOK. ![]() |

Is there not a customer service number you can call?
Or a BN store nearby you can take it to? |

I believe that removing the battery is the only way to really restart the thing. If the computer inside freezes the e-ink display doesn't change, since it requires no power to maintain the image. Popping the battery out (which requires a 00 phillips head screwdriver) and then putting it back in, and then plugging the device into the charger should reboot the computer. You may need to also press the power button on top to get it to restart. Good luck.
