PB360 battery life

My PB360's battery drains in under a week when I am not using it. Its very annoying because it seems whenever I pull my PB360 out to read the battery is dead (usually on tuesday morning during a weekly appt). I don't shut it off but the screen is locked. How long should the battery last on the PB360 when its not activiely being used? Could mine be defective or is this normal behavior for a PB360?

If you don't shut it down and the motion sensor is active, a week is about right.
Considering how fast the PB360 boots, turning it off is no hardship.

I noticed that the battery does drain quite a bit faster if you don't power it off. I read on the PB360 every day and only charge it every month or so (and the battery bar is never below 50%).

Mine does that too. Theoretically, if it's locked, without G sensor on it shouldn't use any power, yet something drains it. I also turn it off if I'm not going toread for the next couple of hours and I charge it every couple of weeks

Theoretically? No.
The PB360 does *not* shut the CPU off when it's not redrawing the screen. Other readers do but not the 360; the CPU is always running, to one extent or another, when its on. It is always doing housekeeping (pagination, orientation monitoring, etc) and *actively* waiting for input.
One of the strengths of the PB line is the stability of the firmware (it *is* LINUX) but that strength comes at a price.
Like a PC, when the PB360 is on, the CPU is awake and using power.
Locking it simply tells it to ignore button presses, no more-no less.

Thanks for the replies. So I guess I will start turning my PB360 off when I'm not using it.

Try setting the boot logo to "current page".
