Calibre buttons are not working

I recently installed Calibre and none of the buttons are working. I've been trying to get the Preferences button to work, but clicking on it or any of the buttons is not getting any result. If I press CTRL + P, the preferences window will show up, but I can't do anything in there. None of those buttons are working either. I"m on Windows XP.

I am experiencing the same issue on Windows 7. The software is basically so buggy now as to have no functionality. No drop downs, buttons do nothing, scrolling doesn't work. "Delete book" opens a dialog and neither OK or CANCEL buttons work. I have uninstalled and reinstalled. I tried to download an older version (0.7) but it opened up showing latest version 0.7.29. Yikes, what happened?

You don't have a Wacom tablet, do you? There were several glitches when using the mouse with those, if I remember correctly. If you do, try searching the forum for answers.

There are several threads suggesting that switching from using the mouse of a Wacom tablet to using a pen might solve the issue. I don't know how the recent upgrade to a new version of Qt would influence that- if you're using a version older than 0.7.28, try upgrading to the latest version of Calibre.
