Seriousness Australian Twin Sisters shot at Denver Shooting Range

This is a totally bizarre story that popped up here in the last couple of days

This shooting range is only a few miles from my home and I've shot there on several occasions.

Although it appears to have been a suicide pact, they were certainly shot; even if by themselves.

I think you are using a "special" definition of shot, with the implication that you can't shoot yourself.

or suicide can't be due to being shot....

no, saying "twins shot!" leads to reactions of "oh noes!!!! someone evil person went and shot these visiting twins!" vs. two poor misguided young women carried out a suicide pact in a very sad and tragic event

no, you are pandering for the reaction. jsut saying someone was "shot" even though they comitted suicide is trolling for attention.

I'm not going to argue this into the ground with you kenny. this is what gets other folk here pissed off at you, and it is the same behaviour that you have exhibited with me recently that got me ticked off at you.

as you have admitted before, you have to prove that "someone on the internet is wrong!" and it doesn't do you any good

No I'm not you are being pedantic and want to argue for some reason. You are applying a different meaning to the words than other people do, that is not my issue, it is yours.

I'd suggest you take your own advice and bow out of this thread.

Well, the phrase "Australian Twin Sisters shot at Denver Shooting Range" does sound a little odd if it was a suicide.

However, to be fair to Kenny, that is how it was initially reported. See this link from the BBC web site of Wednesday;

I have to agree with KK on this one, for me, saying someone was shot implies that they were shot by someone other than themselves. I can't recall ever hearing of a suicide story where they simply reported the victim/perpetrator as being shot unless it was a murder-suicide and then they almost always report it as such.

In the defense of the news agencies though, since they didn't know it was a suicide, reporting them as being shot was the only option they had to go with.
