Epub and removing tags.

I'm unable to remove some tags for books I'm transferring to my device (nook).
Calibre correctly shows a total of one tag, applied to about 1/2 of the books in my library, but when actually sending to device, a number of other tags show up.

I'm using Epub format, and these unwanted tags seem to be set in the epub's opf file, not in calibre.

Metadata management is set to 'automatic' in preferences.

Short of re-converting my whole library, is there any other way to delete these tags in bulk?

How are you transferring these books to your device? If you are using send to device then the epub metadata should update during transfer.

If you are using send to device then the only way for these tags to appear is because the book is already on your Nook. You might want to delete any books for which you see extra tags, disconnect your Nook then reconnect and resend those books.

I'm using send to device.

This happens even if there are not other books on the Nook at all when transferred.

IIRC the metadata update code when sending to device will only replace tags if there is at least one tag for the book in the calibre library. So make sure all your books have at least one tag
