KT Touchscreen not responding, swap doesn't help

Looks like I'm the first who got such a problem, since neither looking through the forum, nor extensive googling was of any use.

I've got a KT and it was working fine until a rather large glass mirror fell on its back (yeah, I know I should be more accurate), and not laying flat, but hitting with sharp corner. There is a visible ding now in the middle of back plastic cover and on metallic thingie under it (EMI screen, I guess?). Surprisingly, display survived the accident, the only result is a tiny gray spot in the place where it was hit from the back. But touchscreen works no more.

Few days back I got a brand new (more or less, he-he) KT from warehouse stuffers sale and the first thing I tried was swapping screens - just to ensure all I need is a new screen. Alas, no go. Neither the "old" touchscreen worked with "new" KT.

So, is there any hope that old one can be fixed? Or should I salvage its battery as the only usable part and bury he rest in trashcan?

Sounds like you have a spare battery now.
