Passworded/DRM PDF

Hey all,
I recently purchased an ebook in PDF format from Osprey International (yes i know, boo to PDF).
The only 'DRM' on it is a password, which is fine... but i can't seem to get it to go onto my 650!
I can drag and drop, but when i open it i get the invalid page error and when i try and transfer it with Sony library or anything else it tells me i don't have the rights to view the ebook on that device.

I'm confused!

Any help appreciated.

I'm no expert, Steve, but I fear you may have bought a book that was never intended to be transferred, but only viewed on a computer itself?

Do you have the full version of Adobe Acrobat (the PDF creator program)? If so, you could open the file, enter the password, and save it as a no-password file.

Hopefully someone with actual experience will come along... but in case they don't... have you tried opening it in Adobe Digital Editions? And, if it opens, tried transferring it using ADE?

If you can print the file, then you can print it to a PDF file with something like CutePDF.

Otherwise you can try removing the password. Google is your friend.

You should download ADE it will work with sony readers just click and drag the file into that, once its in ADE plug in your e-reader, it should pop up on the bottom of ADE and then click and drag into reader. I think this should work

Here is a link to ADE http://www.adobe.com/products/digitaleditions/#fp

Hope this was helpful

Can't promise anything, but ADE is worth a shot. I'm fairly sure it's designed to handle protected PDFs (same company).

It's worth a try, by ADE is designed for books encrypted by digital editions. A regular PDF with a password doesn't fit in that category and is, therefore, unlikely to open in ADE. The only other option I know of is a program that lets you edit PDFs, as has already been mentioned.

I tried opening it and changing the security settings with abobe pro here at work and i can't do that, as it has a seperate password for stripping the security off it.

What a pain.

Only suggestion I can think of now... contact Osprey and ask how to get on your eReader as that's why you bought their eBook, to read on an eReader...
