I've been considering getting an eReader for years but have been overwhelmed by the choices. Then last week I got a letter from my credit card company that my reward points were expiring soon and I must use or lose them. I went out to the reward point site and found a Sony eReader. They didn't say which one it was, but I decided to go ahead and order it anyway. It arrived yesterday and it is the PRS650, which is a new model that gets good reviews. How cool is that?

The printed instructions directed me to plug it into my PC and get a file from it to find out what to do next. The file wasn't there. Fortunately, the internet has lots of information. I downloaded Calibre, installed it, downloaded some free books from Baen, and last night I read my first book. Fantastic!

Looking forward to compiling my new digital library. I'm going to try not to buy any more paper books - my house has too many already.

Also, this is going to be great for motorcycle touring. Less size and weight than even one book, and it'll have hundreds in it!

Good to have your company, Eliza. A wee tip with Sony devices is not to rely on
USB charging from your PC or laptop or on the over-optimistic battery level meter on the device itself. You are likely to have problems if you do. Use an AC mains charger and all will be well. Lovely machines. Best wishes. Neil
