Is the wall adapter included in K3 box ok to use outside US?

I'm from the Philippines and I'm a little hesitant using the adapter that came with the box. Is it auto-volt?

Yes, it's a "universal" mains adapter. All you'll need is a plug adapter.

or you could use a USB wall charger without having to find an adapter for the american plug. there's a related discussion about this here. i had similar worries and got lots of great advice from the guys and galls here. now i charge my kindle using the black charger in the first post and everything's fine. |

just a reminder, international version doesn't include the wall adapter. You need to buy it separately.

To be clear look at the small print on the plug that came with your Kindle. Mine says: Input 100-240V-0.15A 50-60Hz That means if you can find a way to make the plug fit, it is pretty much work anywhere. |

That clears that up, thanks. I plugged it a while ago, and it seems to be working pretty fine. I was afraid it would shoot sparks or something LOL.

The Kindle charger will work anywhere in the world assuming you can actually plug it in. The 100-240V 50-60Hz part of wscott's post means it will work with any standard mains voltage in the world and the two different frequencies you'll get as well. I don't think anybody out there has a different mains supply now not since it was all pretty much standardised on those two many decades ago.

This, for example, is an adapter allowing you to connect a US or Continental European plug into a 3-pin UK power socket:
