There's also a page on Wikpedia about him, which includes a rather more cautious comment about his misgivings about the Big Bang Theory than the Mail's 'debunking' tag.

Interesting young fellow.

That Daily mail article takes bad reporting to new depths . I'm sure the kid is as intelligent as they say he is. The reporter clearly did not understand more than 1% of what the kid was actually working on. I mean, seriously -
Quote:
According to the Indiana Star, Institute astrophysics professor Scott Tremaine -himself a world renowned expert - confirmed the authenticity of Jake's theory.
Orly? Here's what Tremaine actually said (also stated in the article - apparently the reporter doesn't bother to read his own stuff):

Quote:
In an email to the family, Tremaine wrote: 'I'm impressed by his interest in physics and the amount that he has learned so far.

'The theory that he's working on involves several of the toughest problems in astrophysics and theoretical physics.

'Anyone who solves these will be in line for a Nobel Prize.'
... which is a practicing scientist's way of saying - the kid has great potential. Let's get him working on these problems.

Also,
Quote:
But far from complaining, Jake has turned the sleepless nights to his advantage - debunking the big bang theory.
I seriously doubt the boy or his parents said anything like that. Mr. Daily Fail Reporter likely came up with his little gem all on his own . I weep for the state of science reporting. Is there anything from a reputable news source about this kid? So far, everything I've found is just a mishmash of what's in this article (including the same maddeningly vague quotes and sound-bites and inane reportage).

Well if you don't believe that he's working on debunking the big bang, you are wrong. Watch Glenn Beck, get informed

I believe that he's working on debunking the big bang . That's not what the Daily Fail reporter (or the other carbon copies of that 5th grade essay that apparently passes for an article) implied .

I too am working on important projects like building a wisecracking robot monkey, teaching dogs to speak klingon and fixing Glenn Beck's wiring (the heat sinks and cooling lines are kaput again and don't get me started on the left filangie) .
