What is the sim-card looking gizmo?
This inquiry may be premature as I have not followed the initializing sequence for my new 950.
Still, I'm curious! What is the sim-card looking component protruding from the top of the 950? Will the initializing sequence tell me what to do with this? I imagine it should be gently pushed in to the slot but I'm reluctant to do this so, thus far at least, it is still protruding from the top. |

It's a memory slot protector.

Is there any reason to keep using it now? Won't it just stick out and be a problem? (Or if it is pushed all the way in, how can it later be taken out?) |

Depends on how much dust you like in your devices... it is designed to occupy the hole when you don't have a memory card in situ. It's like most memory cards... oush in place until it clicks/locks... push in again and it will then release...
