Second novel is DONE!!!!
Yes!!!!

The second novel in the Vein series is finished! Took me a whole lot longer than I had planned, but it's done!!

Now for the not-so-fun part: the editing process Sometimes I think that the editing is more work than the writing, but Mrs. J. Dean said she'd help me on this one.

In the meantime, come Monday, I start with the third novel!

Is it not better to have it edited by a third party? Can you be truly objective when editing your own work?

If you're referring to simple spelling or grammatical errors, then yes, I agree, but a good copy editor does a heck of a lot more than that. They will often advise that parts of the book are re-written, or are entirely removed. That's generally not not something that an author is able to do themselves. The overwhelming majority of books require professional editing to get them into a state fit to be published. That's just the way it is, and is not meant as a criticism of anyone's writing abilities.
