Hi guys,

I used the code. Everything was going fine until I hit the submit button.

Unfortunately I appear to have been charged full price. That is, the discount does not appear to have been deducted as per the on screen confirmation and "PURCHASE HISTORY" under "ACCOUNT SETTINGS"

Really disappointed...maybe its just my bad luck but be careful guys.

I just successfully used the spring20 discount to buy a book.

You do have to watch after you press "apply" to see if the book price is correct and the discount has been applied. Some publishers do not allow their books to be discounted in this way. I have always gotten a warning by the applied box when the coupon is invalid for that book, or if the coupon has expired, etc.

You can open a web help ticket at http://help.kobobooks.com or email help@kobobooks.com or call them at 1-866-204-4714 to see if they can sort it out for you. Have your receipt number available as you do this.

At least once, the Kobo website showed confirmation of the purchase at the full price even though I used the discount, but my credit card was correctly billed with the discount.

There is no way to confirm if the code will work or not, sadly. Once you apply it, it works, but you'll only know when you purchase the eBook.

Just got "Out of the Dark" by David Weber, used the code, the rebate did apply, so I bought it... only to be charged the full amount.

Is everyone here sure they were charged full freight when the "order now" button confirmed the discount was applied? Sometimes the "confirming e-mail" is actually wrong but the charge to the credit card is correct.

It's confusing, but the invoice I received by email lists the price with the discount. I guess only my cc statement will tell the truth!

I have purchased about 30 books with Kobo coupons. I have never had a problem with the coupon not applying once it was marked as "applied".

In general, coupons do not work with books from Hachette, Grand Central, Warner, and Little Brown publishers. Some coupons also do not work with other publishers. When that is true, the Emails announcing the discount code are clear about that.

Out of the Dark is an Agency book. The coupons don't work on those.

The way to tell is if there is just 1 price listed it is an agency book. If there is a price listed like this the coupon will work:

I tried to buy the book The Gun by C. J. Chivers but sadly the discount code didn't work at all.

It either expired or only works on certain books? I've noticed that about kobos coupons lately, that they only work on some books and not all.

There are several Margaret Truman mysteries at kobobooks all around the $6.29 mark and at 20% off just over $5 with Canadian taxes. I'm told they are breezy, delightful reads with lots of Washington, DC colour. Ideal for the mid-term election season when we all have one or two figures we'd like to see "murdered" ... and save 20% as well!
