PDF will work without removing the DRM, even though it's not the greatest format on portable devices. LIT and MOBI can both have their DRM easily removed and be converted to LRF or EPUB using Calibre (LIT's probably easiest for most people). You can "buy" more than one format and they'll all show up in your account/library so you could try the PDF to see how that is for you and if it's not good enough then pursue other options.

I always buy the PDF version on the Harlequin site for my PRS-505.

With the new version of the Sony Library software, when I download a new book and click "OPEN" it opens the Sony Library. Then it's easy to transfer to reader. Before I had to use Adobe Digital Editions, and put them on my PRS-505 that way.
