unconnected of amazon
Hey, I did some browsing but I cant find a good answer, so I would like one from an actual kindle user.
I use ereaders mainly for reading college material (non protected pdf). Do I assume correctly that I can turn off any wireless on my kindle and upload my pdf files directly from my computer via usb and I never ever need to have any kind of interaction with amazon...ever? ![]() Thanks! |

Quote:
1) You will never, never-ever, be able to use the collections feature. (if you don't connect at least once) 2) If the Kindle doesn't sync its time occasionally, you may eventually experience sorting issues when sorting your library by "last read". If neither of those issues bother you, the answer is "Yes." |

@ Jeriho: Sort of off topic, but just in case you are not aware of this....I have never read any PDFs on my Kindle, but many others here have commented that the Kindle 3 screen is too small to do justice to them. They advise getting the DXG version for the reading of text books and PDFs. (You don't specify which model you are looking at, so please ignore this if you were researching the DXG, not the Kindle 3.)
Here's an article with about the Kindle 3 and PDFs, which relates some positives and some negatives: http://www.the-ebook-reader.com/kind...df-review.html Holly Last edited by OakIris; 10-23-2010 at 12:13 PM. |
