I've discovered something weird!
My ebook likes to collect pennies!
I put it down on the desk, picked it back up and a penny was stuck to the back of it. It came away but the magnetic pull was quite strong there! Just in the top right corner it is magnetic, why??

Yes here too pennies were always all copper, biut nowadays some have a ferric compound in the mix and so are magnetic. Not all tho.

They all pick up 100 dollar bills. Just lay it on top of any unowned C-note you happen to find lying around.
It helps if the back of the reader is wet.

The 1p and 2p coins have been made of copper-plated steel (hence are magnetic) since September 1992. Earlier coins were made from bronze, and hence are non-magnetic.

To answer the original poster's question, however: all Sony Readers have a magnet at the top and bottom; it's used by the Sony covers to hold them shut.
