Kindle and Cyrillic?

Someone was asking me if the Kindle does Cyrillic.

I had always assumed it did, but a quick search shows that it does not.

Is there a relatively easy way to make it compatible with Cyrillic ebooks?

Kindle 3 supports it.

EDIT: If you have any problems with displaying Cyrillic fonts on Kindle 3, make sure to specify the encoding during format conversion. If your conversion software doesn't allow it, use Calibre.

Kindle 3 supports it, previous versions did not, except via a font hack.
