I found the Compact Flash Card (CF) 4GB Platinum quite cheap (around 45 euros), can anyone confirm if it works in the Iliad?

You can take a look at the wiki for Supported cards, the one you mention isn't listed, but that isn't to say it doesn't work. Perhaps you'd like to purchase it and test it (assuming 45euro is not too much)
