Dell Canada question

I am becoming rather frustrated with Dell, although it's probably not their fault.

I placed an order a couple weeks ago for a Sony 505 at $280. It's been on back order all this time & they keep "adjusting" the delivery date. It just moved from Feb 25 to March 30.

What are the chances it'll actually be delivered before the end of March? I see on the Sony.ca site that they have them in stock (the silver one's.)

Just wondering what is the delivery history of Dell Canada. Any opinions would be appreciated.

I got my Sony reader from Dell and had it much faster then I would have through the Sony store.... Though at the time Dell had stock and Sony didn't.

Dell may be having some problems. My bother ordered a new laptop (no special configuration, it was off the shelf) a month ago and also kept having his delivery date changed. It is due this week. I don't know what the deal is.

Edit: This is Dell USA, so maybe the whole company is having a problem.

I know what you mean. I also ordered from Dell Canada a couple of weeks ago and initally was told that the expected delivery date was March 3rd...now, it's showing up to be delivered by March 30th - it's quite annoying.
However, today I called the person who took my order and he said he put in a "special" request to have my PRS-505 sent to me express (I ordered the silver one) so according to him, I should have it by the 3rd as scheduled. I told him I needed it because it was a gift for my boyfriend's birthday...which was the truth. Maybe, you can contact your customer service rep. and ask them to put a rush on it for you too?

I called & tried, but no luck. The guy told me that they have no idea when the items will be in but it will be sent when available. Like I didn't know that already!!

Guess I just have to learn some patience!

Woo, woo!!! Just checked my order status this morning for the 505 from Dell Canada (at $280!!) & the shipping date has changed from March 30 to March 5. Now I'm excited!!!

I think I'm lucky. I have a Sony store in town, so I'll probably buy my ereader from them once the funds are available.

I was going to buy a netbook, but I realized that the only reason I want a netbook is so I can read books on the go. An e-reader is probably better for that.
