Hello all I have been trying to convert this book I bought. it is a pdb I need to convert it to lrt for my sony reader. I need a Idiots guid to this plz ! please help!

If it is a .pdb, then it probably isn't a MOBI (.mobi or .prc). There are several different ebook formats in .pdb, see Wiki: PDB. Use a text editor to look up the Palm Database File Code for your ebook. Or tell us which program you normally use to read it.

I am using e reader(for palm) i have downloaded the various software to try and decode it but i am clueless.

See Visual Kindle Guide. The page on command prompt tells you how to open a command window and the page on KindlePID tells you how to install Python. Don't worry that you don't have a Kindle, since all Python scripts work similarly. The ereader2html.py script works similarly to KindleFIX, except that it needs more arguments. See eReader Decoder Tool. Once you have the HTML (plus images) in "outdir" then Calibre can convert the HTML to LRF for you.
