Fats Domino made some great music
Before he died, Fats Domino was a very great music man and made several songs that I love to death. I have a digital copy of an 8-disc collection containing "all" of the recordings he recorded on Imperial Records and it's encoded in MP3 format at 320kbps and not even transcoded. There are a lot of facets of Fats Domino that we could discuss, such as his place in the burgeoning Rock movement to which he was a very involved party, or even just how fat he actually was.
Today, though, I am throwing out the question of what is your favorite Fats Domino song and what does it mean to you? My favorite Fats Domino song is "Ain't it a Shame," which contains some real soul. To me, it represents the catchiest aspects of Fats' singing and combines them seamlessly with a near-universally relatable topic to create something timeless, unpretentious, and quite fun. |
