Can ereaders get viruses?
Or more specifically, can the JBL get them? I've just discovered my laptop had a virus and I was wondering if I should worry about my JBL.

I would think it would be difficult. However I have been hearing some rumors about virus being contained in a .pdf file. So in theory I suppose its possible.

The PDF viruses have been .exe files so, unless your laptop uses the same OS as the JBL, it's highly unlikely it will spread to the JBL (even if the OSs are the same, it's still unlikely). If it will ease your mind, you could hook up your JBL to a computer and have your antivirus program scan the drives it appears as.

The fact is it is very very very difficult for your ereader to get a virus. Most viruses are OS specific, and most ereaders don't use windows. Then of course you could always get a logic bomb...
