Smile My dad is a lucky guy!

This may not be the right forum for this, but any tips or pointer in the right direction would be appreciated.

I am getting my dad a Tungsten C to say thanks for something big. He is getting pretty set in his ways, but is up to date enough to have Wi-Fi set up in his home in Belize. (He really lives the good life. He also has an apartment in Paris.)

I assume the TC will connect easily on his LAN at home, but I also want to sell him on the idea that he can connect elsewhere. He usually travels through Miami or Houston.

What is needed to get online Wi-Fi-wise at a major airport (Houston, Miami, Paris)? What are good sites for me to go to to "get educated"? Is there a turcic for Wi-Fi analogy?

Thanks!

I think he'd need an account with a Wi-Fi provider, like T-Mobile or something. Forgive me as I'm not super-conversant with the whole ma-bob just yet, but I'm sure to know more when my Wi-Fi SD card comes out.

Other people here may know more and can point you in the right direction. But what I really want to know is how can I be like your Pops? (I'm digging the whole South American ranch and apt. in swanky cosmo. city lifestyle.) Is there a book out or something?

<sigh>

Dig this article.

Brighthand today has an article that may answer some of your questions (and, of course, potentially raise others.)

Raised.

And don't forget - a daughter who wants to help you check your email from your hammock!

Thanks also for the link to the brighthand article. It was helpful. It looks like boingo and t-mobile are PC only , and wayfarer doesn't work in the airports my dad frequents. Oh well, things change quickly...

In good news for him, see http://www.europemedia.net/shownews.asp?ArticleID=16191
