Hello,
We are about to get a Kindle and in the research process, discovered Calibre and these forums. Thanks to those responsible for both! These forums have been a world of help, and Calibre seems like it will be a great management tool for us. One question I couldn't seem to find an answer to...is there any way to automatically add content to Calibre, so that when we, say, buy a book from Amazon and download it to our pc, it automatically gets added to the Calibre library? Can Calibre perhaps monitor a folder location for new files? If not, can you please consider this a feature request? Oh, look, an appropriate smiley: ![]() ApK |

To my knowledge, you can't auto-add books. As for feature requests, I believe Kovid prefers to get those via the bugtracker system on the Calibre website.

Implementing folder watching on all the platforms calibre supports is a major pain, which is why this feature doesn't exist.

Thanks Kovid, and thanks again for Calibre.
I'll have to take a deeper look at the docs. If there is a command-line way to add files, then perhaps I'll write my own external watcher. Or I could use this as an excuse to learn Python.... ApK |

The calibredb command lets you add files.
