A couple of years ago it became apparent that I needed to either a) stop buying books or b) buy a bigger house because I was simply running out of space. Since neither of those options was especially appealing, I started looking for alternatives, and digital books seemed to be the answer to my problem. Most days, I still think it they are the right answer.

I currently own an EB1150. I like many things about it...the backlight, the ebookwise librarian, the SD card slot, the price. However, fewer and fewer of the books I buy are available in the LIT format that I can convert to html and then add to the librarian. Further, I have been burned by not being able to convert some LIT files. So, I am getting ready to kiss my EB a fond farewell and move on to another reader.

That reader will definitely not be a Kindle. It may be a Sony or a Nook. I look forward to reading the forums here and asking questions of folks who are more technologically knowlegeable than I am. I also expect to seek help with converting LIT files with which I have had problems. Finally, I will post my own discoveries in the hope that other community members who are not especially saavy may find assistance, or at least company, in their trials and tribulations.

Hi Debbie and welcome to MobileRead. I've had a Sony 505 since Jan 08 and really like it. Be sure and let us know what you finally decide on.
