Kindle Scribe / newer Kindle / download content over Ethernet/usb-c
Hello ,
would kindly like to know if the newer Eink Kindle devices finally allow for downloading content over Ethernet onto the device for offline reading, since at home not using Wi-Fi. Thank you very much. |

No, they don't. Whether they will allow it in the future, no one knows but Amazon.

I don't know what the usecase for wired ethernet over USB-C would be instead of wifi. You can, however, load content onto all Kindles over USB.

Yes, but not download and transfer your Kindle purchases, unless you remove the DRM.
I thought the OP meant that. If not, then yes, of course you can sideload books without DRM already on your computer via USB. |

It's kind of a weird use case. You might find this feature on an Android based eInk device, but Kindles do not and will probably never have any sort of OTG (or whatever it is called) for USB port, it's just for data transfer and charging.
Workaround for most people would be to use phone as a hotspot when you want to connect, assuming it is capable of that and that there is cellular coverage. |

If your Kindle is jailbroken, you can install and use USB networking to connect to it. I played with this but found it offered no advantages to me over a normal USB connection for transferring books. It is handy for doing a terminal connection.
