Can't add metadata values

I'm trying to add the title and author to my project in the Metadata Editor. I can get the Name to appear, but when I try to add the Value, my cursor just sits there. I tried clicking, right-clicking, just typing, and nothing lets me put the Value in. What should I do?

PS I took a screenshot but I can't figure out how to get it in here. I click on the image icon but it asks for a URL and I don't have the image online it's just on my computer.

What version of Sigil and is this epub2 or epub3? And what platform? Windows, Mac, or Linux (and which desktop).

Typically you just double-click in a cell and edit it. There is an edit cell key on some platforms, space, enter, etc

Try pressing F2 in the Value cell.

Go into Advanced mode and click the paper click icon:

After selecting Metadata > Add Metadata > Author, you'll have to double-click the Author entry (or click OK). Then double-click [Author name here] and enter the name of the author.
