Kindle not showing in Calibre anymore

I'm looking for technical help. I've tried Google search and found the general guidelines to check for: everything is good

I've tried a forum search and haven't found anything particularly useful. My situation is
Mac computer - new Kindle PW wasn't showing up in finder until I installed MacDroid to enable MTP. Cable is supplied with Kindle. Kindle was detected in Finder and with Calibre. I "saved" a few books to the Kindle, but did not use 'send to device'. I updated the device configuration template for where to save and updated Calibre to 8.7 and now I can't detect the Kindle in Calibre anymore.

Device is detected by MacDroid and shows in finder. I have tried restarting Calibre with the Kindle both mounted and unmounted in MacDroid. I have verified all my plugins are active (green). I have changed cables. Any ideas?

MTP on a Mac and Linux only allows one connection. If your Mac shows it in Finder, calibre will not be able to connect. I would suggest removing/disabling MacDroid.
