Viewer starts but never launches
My OS is Ubunti 22.04. I've had this problem for a couple of months. When I try to open a book to read, the viewer opens and displays either, "Preparing book for first read," or, "Loading book." The viewer never finishes.
I tried entering QTWEBENGINE_CHROMIUM_FLAGS="--disable-gpu" calibre as a global variable, by entering it into my /etc/environment file. The OS displays it correctly, but it doesn't help. I get an unending stream of error messages, of which this is a small sample: Code:
[6882:6911:1025/134331.996808:ERROR:gl_context_egl.cc(279)] eglCreateContext failed with error EGL_BAD_CONTEXT [6882:6911:1025/134331.996976:ERROR:gpu_channel_manager.cc(823)] ContextResult::kFatalFailure: Failed to create shared context for virtualization. That indicates Qt WebEngine is unable to create an OpenGL surface. If --disable-gpu isnt working then you will need to fix whatever is broken in your graphics drivers.

Ah, that did it. I changed from the nvidia driver to the x.org driver and can now read the books in my library. Thank you.
