Special Characters window: difficulty closing with standard keyboard commands
Linux Mint 20.1 / Cinnamon 4.8.6
The Special Characters window does not close using the expected general keyboard commands when the focus is in the special characters pane proper; neither ESC, nor repeating the Specials Characters shorcut, nor F4 works in this state. This means that you always have to close the window by clicking on the close button itself. If the focus is anywhere else in the window (e.g search bar) the keyboard close commands work; but for some reason clicking on one of the special characters disables these commands. That is by design. Once you click on an char that char is inserted into the text and keyboard focus is with the editor so you can continue typing without needing to close the dialog. Pressing any key will go to the editor not the char select dialog.
