Japanese books on Kobo Touch

Hi,
I got this old Kobo Touch (N905) and it works perfectly except for reading my books in Japanese. All I get are blanck pages, with sometimes some numbers or english words...
I know the Kobo Touch can handle Japanese characters, I can select Japanese in the settings, or even in English, the titles appear in Japanese in the book list, or the status/info line at the bottom of the screen.
I tried with the latest firmware (4.28.18220) with no better result.
The Japanese book I try to read works on my Kobo app (on iPad), on the iBook app from iPad, and on Caliber.
I think it's because of vertical display of Japanese, ... any info on what to do to get it sorted ??

Kobos are definitely capable of handling tategaki... make sure the book is in KEPUB format (it should be if you've bought it from Kobo and is synced to your device - if it's sideloaded, you'll need to convert it with kepubify or Calibre before copying it over to the device). If that doesn't work, check that you're using a font that supports Japanese characters.

Wow ! Thanks a lot ! it worked with Kepub ! I never heard about that Kepub thing before ....

Now I can read my japanese books
