Conditionally converting to kepub when transfering to device

I've setup Calibre to use KoboTouchExtended to convert books to kepub when transferring books to my device.

There are advantages to using epub on the device, for example when there are a lot of images. Is it possible to setup Calibre in such a way to perform the conversion only when a certain column contains a certain value? Is it possible to set-up conditional conversion when transferring? |

No, the driver is not capable of doing that. If you are only sending a few books as kepubs, you can convert the books to kepub. Then just use built-in KoboTouch driver. Its default configuration is to send kepubs if they exist in preference to epubs. You will also need to install the Kepub Output and the Kepub Metadata Writer plugins. I also recommend installing the the Kepub Input and the Kepub Metadata Reader plugins in case you need to convert the other way.

Or you can select the ones to be epub only, or kepub only and use the checkbox in the Extended Driver (wonderful work David) to turn on/off kepubify.

I only use epub on the Kobo as it renders closer to KF8, decent epub apps and most other non-kobo epub ereaders. I appreciate the pros & cons of each format. |
