Ugh, Penguin Random House Reader "Rewards"

The reward program from Penguin excludes a surprisingly high amount of their books, and I think it's gotten worse recently. The last two digital purchases do not seem eligible for their reward program.

Now I searched for Later by Stephen King, which is a book released this month and which I purchased a paperback of (still waiting for it to arrive). Even this one is not eligible for rewards according to their page. At first I figured they were excluding some of their older, cheaper backlog, but apparently that's not the criteria either. It's baffling to me which counts as a reward book and which doesn't. Anyone else use this service with the publisher? |

So far I have only redeemed one free coupon. I am waiting to submit more purchases since they are only good for two years from the time you submit. I figured I'd wait until I have at least 6 saved up.

For the books I tend to purchase the hardcover and digital editions have all been eligible for rewards, just not the paperback release. I have been purchasing mostly new releases with the occasional backlist if the digital version is one I need and it goes on sale. There were several normally $7.99 backlist titles I purchased last year for $1.99 during a sale which is the only reason I got to 12 titles as soon as I did. I do not think it's the best rewards program, but since I would buy the books anyway I decided I might as well be enrolled in it. |

True, I am not buying the books just for this program, so if they work together, then it works

![]() I finally found another from a sale, so I have four total. Not sure I'll be able to use them in time before expiration, but we'll see. I just found their exclusion system a bit off where so many of their books are concerned. |
