Problems after edits
I'm an author, and made maybe 30 hyperlink edits in my book this morning.
There were a few in several chapters, and since I had never done this, I started by making one edit, saved it, and then opened the book in the viewer to see if it worked. Did that 3 or 4 times. No problems. Then I did a chapter at a time, same process, 3 or four changes, save and open in the viewer, everything was OK. Got done and saved a copy to disk so I could check it in Books. Now nearly every chapter opens in Books with this warning: “This page contains the following errors: error on line 298 at column 122: EntityRef: expecting ';' Below is a rendering of the page up to the first error.” and seems to be dead beyond the first page in each chapter. Still looks fine in Calibre. Any clues? DS |

We are not clairvoyant, we need to see that line of code at minimum (use the # icon on the MR advanced reply mode) at the minimum.
But, since it says it wants a ; I suspect there is something close there that makes the parser think there is more to the (inline) STYLE than was done/wanted. Many viewers TOLERATE bad code. That does not mean thy all do. You do need to fix the error |

Check if there are unescaped ampersands in the source files.

There were no & anywhere I could find, either in source or edited file. But I looked at a different unedited version that had these: before and after some of the hyperlinks. Thanks! DS |
