Get rid of koreader "open book with.."

I installed KOreader on my Pocketbook and find it a very interesting piece of reader, but when i enter my books-folder from within the KOreader file-manager, koreader stops responding for about seveal minutes. When i set the books-folder in preferences, it instantly showed books, but in file-manager, its extremely slow.
So i opened a book to read, it instantly opened. So far so good.
But when the PB goes to sleep and i power it on again, it took again several minutes to open the book. Every single time.
So finally i deleted koreader from my PB.
Ok, now my problem: Whenever i want to open a book, i get the watch and nothing happens. After some fiddling around i realized that there is a context-menu where i can "open book with" koreader.app, PBreader for epub and PBreader for epub3.
Apparently KOreader is set somewhere as the primary reader and every time i open a book i have to do it the "complicated" way. Is there a way to get rid of that? Say delete the "koreader.app" from that menu?
thanks a lot for any advice.

Very strange issue, indeed.

About the associations: you made them yourself at some point (most probably following KO wiki install instructions). They lay around in a text file called "extensions.cfg" or something similar.

With KO installed it should be a matter of de-associate extensions with the program. With KO uninstalled you need to remove the file yourself.

I hope you're able to find it. If not you could ask in the Pocketbook subforum. People there should know better where the file is placed.

OR wait here for a good soul who provides the file path.

Path is system/config/extensions.cfg

Of course on my InkPad X the access to the KOReader file manager is immediate and the opening times for ebooks are very different. A "normal" ePub takes 5-6 seconds to open from the home screen or PocketBook library, or the first time it is opened from the KOReader file manager.

From the history or from the KOReader file manager (on subsequent opens) it takes about 2 seconds to open.

And with the e-reader completely switched off it takes about 12 seconds to open.

My gut feeling says it's the auto-standby kicking in at a *very* inopportune time, but, yeah, weird.

Finally gave it a new try: I deleted all books from PB, installed KOreader and added books again via calibre (with the Pocketbook improved plugin).
Now starting books is fast as told by cellaris. - Found the corresponding extensions.cfg too. Thanks a lot!

So now i have some (hopefully) last questions: I saw that koreader will import books directly via the wifi. I tried that but dont have any clue on how this works! I enabled wifi, started via upper menu "calibre - connect", in calibre i see the column "on device". koreader then asked me to set the home-folder (here the first problem begun: It was inside the folder of the actually reading book, no way to step up to the /Books - folder where i want the books to get stored. Finally i could escape that window by closing koreader and somehow i later could set the home-folder to /Books (but i am not sure).)
So the "on device" column is not showing any of my books (stays empty), koreader again is hanging. So i shut down wifi via settings after a long time to get koreader responding again. What a hell!
Sadly there is (again) no help nor any howto to get that task done.

So how does this work correctly?
In the settings of calibre the export of books is the same in PB-plugin and the SmartDevice-plugin.
Settings done like in the wiki shown.
Do i have to enter anything to "Metadata-field" (I dont understand the aba, abs thing. Do i have to enter say series-info to get my books sorted by series? What is the right way to do that?
Do i have to enter epub, pdf and djvu in the last field inside the plugin?

I have seen that the PB-reader (explorer-3.db) doesnt store series numbers correctly: Numbers like 2.5 are stored in PB as 2, so when a serie has 1, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.1, 3.2, 4: I get in PB 1, 2, 2, 3, 3, 3, 4 - Really bad thing, the db is capable of storing the right numbers...
