iOS App Dictionary issues on Kobo app, Iphone 8

Having updated both phone and app it's a real shame to see the dictionary still not functioning correctly. It'll only work once in every 10/20 attempts and even then it's clumsy; with the definition disappearing almost immediately or highlighting the wrong word. A long press usually just brings up the option to highlight. Anyone else with a similar issue? The dictionary works perfectly on my Forma.
