Calibre as a Private digital Library with 300 users
Hi,
Can I setup Calibre as a private library with 300 users, can calibre server take up that load. I planning to use ebook reader apps that can connect to OPDS server can access the content, so the server can be in readonly mode. Any suggestions how I could go about it, if its possible as calibre is intended for home use. Any info on this would be of great help, thanks |

It's a single user application because of the type of SQL software used.

Yes it can take that load. Simply run the server, there's no setup required.

This is my implementation plan, kindly share your thoughts 1. Install desktop application as Admin account, to be used for cataloging ebooks, adding new books and managing users. 2. Install calibre-web on linux server and pointing to the above calibre library using the instructions given in the below link a. for adding authentication b. for adding SSL https://www.digitalocean.com/communi...n-ubuntu-20-04 3. Connect to the server using eBook readers for end users to access. I have around 50,000 books, any suggestions on cataloging? Thank you |

Just remember that calibre-web will not automatically detect changes to the calibre library; you'll need to select the "Reconnect to Calibre-DB" option in the calibre-web admin page
