Calibre 4.1 locks up - unable to use
I added in book in the last version of Calibre 4.0 this morning and afterward installed Calibre 4.1. Now I am unable to use Calibre. When I try to add a book, the program locks up in the Adding Books window when Reading metadata and adding to library (one book) reaches 100%. I have to open Task Manager to kill it. Also, simply clicking on Preferences locks up Calibre. I have never had a problem with any other version of Calibre and am using Windows 10x64 with 16gb of RAM.

Is there a way to revert back to Calibre 4.0?

Something on your computer isinterfering with calibre there were absolutely no changes in 4.1 that could possibly cause the sympotms you describe. And if you wish to downgrade feel free to do so, simply uninstall and instal 4.0 it will not affect your books/settings.

What is the link to Calibre 4.0? I only see 4.1 on the Download page.

Nothing in my computer prevented Calibre 4.0 from working as usual this morning, but Calibre 4.1 doesn't work. I tried running repair, but it made no difference.

Try turning off your AV and if that doesn't work, try safe mode.

I found the link to 4.0, uninstalled 4.1, and installed 4.0, which also didn't work.

Do you have any ideas as to what might be causing Calibre to lock up when I try to add a book or view Preferences?
