Ignored Devices

How can I get a device to be ignored if I already allowed Calibre to manage it. I want to be able to ignore a device before Calibre tries to download the list of books on it. There is an old cache of books or metadata or something on it that Calibre can list, but it just takes forever and hangs the program. I would rather just have the device ignored until I am ready to deal with it.

Yes, but, I can't access it because as soon as the device is attached, it begins to sync and preferences are blocked. It gets hung up on the listing books. I can't find the device in the "ignored" field when I do check.

There's no UI for this, but you can edit the gui.json file in the calibre configuration folder, look for "ask_to_manage_devices" and change its value to []

Oh I forgot, there is UI for this -- you can see the list of known devics and tell calibre to ignore one via Preferences->Plugins and customize the MTP plugin.
