3_reference problem

Hi all, I'd like to reiterate that the problem that has been reported a couple of times, regarding the mysterious folder 3_reference, still exists.

I had to reflash my Iliad and upgraded again to 2.12. When I hit Reference Materials in Device Manager I am taken to a folder called 3_reference containing the image file Referencematerials.png. There are no manuals.

My manuals are definitely in the Documents folder of my internal memory, but Device Manager doesn't point there, it seems.

I have trie to find and delete the 3_reference folder but have no idea where it is.

Please can someone advise.

Thanks,
David

OK, since none of you seem to have a clue how to fix this problem, and when another guy reported it he got no help, here's the answer, which I found today after hours of fiddling. TAKE NOTE.

When you reflash your Iliad and then upgrade to 2.12 (or simply upgrade without reflash), you might find that Reference Materials in Device Manager points only to a referencematerials.png file, not to your manuals/release notes.

What this means is that for some reason the software upgrade didn't install the manuals/release notes properly.

The solution is to download the manuals/release notes from the Iliad site and copy them to a new folder called 'Reference' which must be a subfolder of 'Documents' in the internal memory. You will then find that Reference Materials in Device Manager points to your manuals/release notes, not to the .png file. Problem solved.

Cheers,
David
