Can I unhack my Kobo Touch?

Hello,

I'm planning on hacking my Kobo Touch later today using the firmware hack.

If I'm not happy with it afterwards, can I unhack it?

Depends which hack you are referring to.

With most traditional mods, a factory reset gets rid of them all.

But some mods also offer some kind of uninstall routine.

The two hacks I want to do are:

Have an offline version of Wikipedia like this person has: http://a3nm.net/blog/kobo_glo_hacking.html

and, play Frotz games via KoboLauncher.

Would I be able to undo both of these things?

Sure, but Sergey's Kobolauncher and the Frotz program should not interfere with the stock software. All you would need to do is to delete the "vlasovsoft" folder to remove them both.

P.S.; Calling the addon software "Hacks" or "Mods" is a stretch, for the most part they do not touch the original code at all. They run inside their own code structure, except for a tiny bit to intercept the startup, so that the addon programs can be selected. Now your Offline WiKi install looks like it includes a good deal of "hacking".

Thank you. For some reason I didn't see your reply until today.

My only question now is, if I do the offline Wiki hacking first, will installing Kobolauncher undo any of the hacking?

It shouldn't, (looking at just that part of the hacks listed on the site you linked to), but if it did you could redo the Wiki hack (replacing anything the Kobolauncher might have overwriten).
