Screen clarity settings

I'm trying to get back the screen clarity of the original settings that Kobo had in place when the H2O shipped.

When I first turned on the device it was so clear and gorgeous looking that I was very impressed at the difference between that screen and my Glo.

But, the spacing was way too wide and from memory font too large, so I changed the settings without taking note of the original settings thinking that the screen would remain clear. No.

Anyway none of my blundering around changing fonts and sizes (whatever) has brought back that original clarity. The screen is sort of greyish and has a mild cloud like background. (That description make sense?)

Here are my current settings:
Kobo Nickel
Font size: about a third of the way along the line - possible 10.5 pt
Weight: maybe 48% ish
Line spacing: zero
Justification: off

Also, does anyone know what the Kobo shipped light setting was?

Thanks

Edit
I prefer a sand coloured background rather than a white/bluish coloured background.

Edit 2
I should have also mentioned that I read side loaded epubs exclusively (so no kepubs).

The simplest way to restore the default settings is to delete the configuration file. But if you delete individual options in the file, the defaults for those options will be used. For what you want, I suggest deleting the "Reading" and "PowerOptions" sections.

The only problem with the above is that the reading settings can be stored for a book. If you adjust them while reading a book they are stored for the book in the database. So, for existing books, you need to remove them. My Kobo Utilities plugin has an option to do this.
