Exclamation Free (nook/Kindle/Kobo US) 40+ HarperCollins books [Mystery, Romance, Fantasy, Etc.]

So apparently just for the US, there are over 40+ full-length HarperCollins titles which seem to be a multi-store glitch freebie for today (or a totally awesome stealth promotion that they should repeat every now and then ), courtesy of their HarperCollins e-books, Avon, and uncollinated Harper imprints.

Hat tip to apesmom for spotting and mentioning this in the Romance megathread.

It's a mix of mystery, thriller, romance, contemporary fiction, fantasy, and possibly a few other genres, including what seems to be a single non-fiction book in the lot.

As far as I can tell, almost all the books are available @ B&N, Amazon, and Kobo just for the US (definitely not in Canada or the UK when I check, but possibly might also be free elsewhere), some seem to also be free via iTunes US when I spot-checked a few titles, and maybe also Google Play US, which I can't easily check.

There's some auto-linkage below for each store, but be warned, it doesn't pull up all the freebies for most of the stores, so I'll also list the author names below so you can direct-search for their titles, which is pretty much the only way to grab the lot at B&N anyway.

And this has been the (late!) selected 3rd 2nd (non-repeat) free ebook thread of the day.

Because 40+ freebies if you can get them is a deal for a single day.

Also, I have a scheduled hospital visit tomorrow that I have to prepare for and there's nothing else sufficiently time-sensitive in the priority posting queue that can't be dealt with either later tonight or whenever I get back, so I'm just going to finish up with my pre-procedure instructions, take my painkillers, and then hibernate for the rest of the day.

Enjoy!

Store search linkage:
  • B&N: start halfway down here, then go to the next page, and skip to the last page here; this doesn't grab everything, so you'll also need to do an author search for any who write in genres you want to pick up
  • Amazon: HarperCollins (scattered across all pages with some samplers and old long-term freebies and short stories mixed in), Harper (only on the 3rd page; the others are samplers and self-pub stuff), Avon (all 3 pages), Witness Impulse imprint
  • Kobo: start halfway down page 9 and continue through to page 13

Authors (not in order, genres are my best guess, and please see apesmom's post in the Romance megathread for all the dozen or so romance authors):

Liza Bennett mystery/suspense
Lawrence Block mystery/thriller
Julian Jay Savarin military action thriller
Hal Friedman suspense/action thriller
Laura Durham maybe-cozy mystery
John Whitman action TV tie-in
Karin Yapalater police procedural suspense thriller
Robin Gold contemporary/women's fiction
Debra Doyle & James MacDonald, AU historical age-of-sail military fantasy adventure
Steve Eubanks stockcar racing mystery
Papal Magic by Simon the lone non-fiction work
Selena Montgomery suspense thriller
Noreen Ayres mystery
John Shirley mystery involving the ghost of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
Suzette Francis African-American contemporary/women's fiction
Gregg Main mystery/suspense thriller (maybe horror-ish)
Peter Schechter espionage-looking suspense thriller

ETA: there may also be some accompanying glitch sale markdowns to 99 cents, as also noted in the Romance megathread. Certainly for Lawrence Block fans, it did seem like there were an unusual amount of his titles available at 99 cents, although those may have just been single short stories. But if you've any HC books you had wishlisted, it probably wouldn't hurt to check the US stores for pricedrops on them.

Thank you for the listing on these, even though I had already discovered many of them on another site that I use to find new listings for each day.

I must say that I don't feel these are offered free due to some kind of glitch. I think it's just another marketing ploy.

Regardless (and again), I wish to thank you for the listing. I'm sure some members might not have been aware of these.

Tons on sale for $0.99 & $1.99 many by very popular authors...

I think these will work...
$0.99 HarperCollins Titles
$0.99 Avon Titles
$1.99 HC Titles
$1.99 Avon Titles

Links are to Amazon, but it looks like the prices are good at many US stores.

NOTE: Some of the $0.99 & $1.99 titles may be novellas/shorts that are normally priced that.

I realize that a lot of people won't buy from B&N anymore but here's a search to find the HarperCollins 99 cent books. From there, you can check the genres you're interested in. There are a lot of PD works there, but in the SF/Fantasy, there are a number of the David G. Hartwell Best SF/Fantasy of the year collections, a couple of Bradbury short story collections, Sherri Tepper, Raymond Feist, Kim Harrison, Kevin Anderson & more.
